Using electrophysiology coupled with RNA sequencing and proteomics to elucidate the electrochemical manifestations of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias.
I came to JAX with a background in the organic synthesis of genetic therapeutics, specifically Antisense Oligonucleotides. I wanted to expand my research horizons and study personalized medicine in the context of neurobiology. Now, as a research assistant, I help catalyze the throughput of neurobiological experiments in Dr. O’Connell’s lab. Though I primarily employ electrophysiological techniques to study the electrochemical integrity of hippocampal and hypothalamic neurons, I also assist with standard molecular biology experiments, behavioral phenotyping, and data analysis.
