Innovating Minds: Machine Learning and Cognitive Research
The advent of machine learning has empowered researchers to analyze vast amounts of data, easily identifying trends and patterns, and optimize the most promising research paths. In this next installment of "Scientifically Speaking," predoctoral associate Jaycee Choi will share how she is using these tools to assess cognitive function in mice. Her work could transform our approach to metabolic disease, neuropsychiatric conditions, aging and Alzheimer's disease.
Choi will be joined by moderator and Senior Scientific Curator, Heidi Fisher, Ph.D., who is currently studying the genetics of addiction behavior. The two will discuss how mouse behavior offers insight on human behavior, and will highlight JAX's efforts to better understand the forces that influence our habits. In honor of World Mental Health Day, we invite you to join us and learn more about the significance of this vital research.
