The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) and Technology Development Coordinating Center (TDCC) invite you to join a live, hybrid event with industry leaders and genome technology developers and users. Recent improvements in the efficiency, accuracy, and complexity of genomic analyses have been driven by new technological advances. The objective of this outreach series is to provide postsecondary students, postdoctoral associates/fellows and biomedical researchers with a fundamental understanding of how these new technologies are utilized, as well as emerging opportunities and challenges associated with their optimization and use. View past TDCC-sponsored Outreach events on our YouTube Channel.
The morning will be for in-person attendees and consist of two hands-on workshops run concurrently on epigenomics and epitranscriptomics from EpiCypher, Inc. and Alida Biosciences, Inc., respectively. Learn more about the workshops below and be sure to select what session you want to attend when registering for in person attendance.
Following lunch and vendor show, the afternoon will feature lectures consisting of two thematic areas. The first will focus on emerging technologies for understanding human genome functions. Speakers will discuss genomic technologies that include multi-omic analyses at a single-cell level, genome structure and function, and large-scale analysis of nucleic acid-protein interactions. The second area will focus on technologies for making and sequencing DNA and RNA. Speakers will discuss utilization of synthetic genetic systems, expanding studies of global genetic diversity, and translational control in mammals. The afternoon will culminate with a keynote address from Stacey Gabriel, Ph.D., the executive vice president of platforms and scientific execution and institute scientist at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
