Join us for the 2023 Maine Cancer Genomics Initiative Forum on Friday, March 31 – Saturday, April 1. A preliminary agenda is now available! Download a copy of the agenda to see what is in store at next year’s event.
The event will be hosted in person at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine and virtually with on-demand viewing options for the designated post-event period.

WORKING TOWARDS HEALTH EQUITY IN CANCER GENOMIC TESTING
On November 20, Jessica DiBiase, M.P.H. from MaineHealth Institute for Research participated in a panel discussion, Working Towards Health Equity in Cancer Genomic Testing, at the National Society of Genetic Counselors Annual Conference in Nashville, TN.
Presentations from Ms. DiBiase and co-panelists Dr. Altovise Ewing, Ph.D., LCGC, from Genentech, Dr. Lara Sucheston-Campbell, Ph.D., M.S., from Roche, and Blake Vuocolo, M.S., CGC, from Baylor College of Medicine explored racial, socioeconomic, and other factors that contribute to disparities in cancer genomic care. Ms. DiBiase presented emerging data from MCGI about whether a patient’s geographic location (degree of rurality) in Maine predicts perceptions about genomic tumor testing. Co-panelists and conference attendees discussed strategies for promoting health equity in cancer genomics across research and clinical applications.
MCGI INTERN PRESENTS AT NNECOS 2022
Anna Pavlova, Colby College '24, was selected to present a poster on her internship project with MCGI at the Northern New England Clinical Oncology Society (NNECOS) Annual Meeting in October.
Anna first joined us during her Colby JanPlan in 2022 and continued working during Spring semester. She assembled her work in collaboration with the team and submitted an abstract to NNECOS. Anna presented her poster on Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: Investigating the Relationship Between Focused Molecular Testing and Next Generation Sequencing in Maine. Anna is the second MCGI intern to present at a NNECOS conference!
