Webinar: Mouse Models of Cardiovascular Disease

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Our mouse model repository maintains hundreds of mouse models to accelerate research in coronary heart disease (including,  atherosclerosis, ischemic/reperfusion injury and myocardial infarction),  hypertension, hypertrophy and heart failure, and  other heart abnormalities. Join us to learn more about:

  • Published data characterizing key mouse models of cardiovascular disease
  • Strain-specific details about disease onset, phenotypes, and severity
  • Online resources to assist with mouse model selection, including the “Cardiovascular Research Resource” and the "Mouse Phenome Database"

Peter Kelmenson has worked at The Jackson Laboratory for over 16 years. He began in the Laboratory of Dr. Beverly Paigen, where he studied cardiovascular disease.  Peter’s areas of expertise within Technical Information Services include JAX® Services, genotyping, complex breeding schemes, diversity outbred mice, and models of cardiovascular disease. Peter earned a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College, Northfield, MN, in 1993 and completed graduate courses at the University of Georgia in 1995.
